Introducing Cm3’s Fully Digital Permit To Work Solution

Cm3 is proud to announce the release of a fully digital Permit To Work (PTW) solution, built natively within Cm3 OnSite. Designed in close collaboration with Cm3 clients, digital permit workflows will address the persistent challenges faced by organisations reliance on outdated, paper-based and manual processes to manage high-risk works. Facilities managers, site supervisors, and safety professionals can now access a streamlined, fully digital solution that transforms how work permits are raised, authorised, and audited.

Built With Safety Managers, For Safety Managers

PTWs are widely recognised as a best practice component for managing high-risk work. Unlike generic SWMS or static risk assessments, Cm3’s PTW solution is designed to dynamically respond to the unique risks of each job and environment.

Cm3’s PTW solution has been developed in close partnership with organisations across the Cm3 network, ensuring the solution meets the real-world needs of HSEQ professionals managing complex permit workflows. From the early design to final deployment, client feedback has helped shaped every feature, resulting in permit flows that are intuitive, powerful, and purpose-built for risk management.

This release introduces enhanced capabilities to manage permits across several high-risk works. Each permit is configured based on the specific risk profile of the work, ensuring controls are appropriate, relevant, and defensible including:

Permit workflows can also be utilised across critical document checks, such as Working with Children’s Checks (WWCC) and site-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), which can be digitally reviewed for a lapse in compliance at the point of entry.

Closing the Gaps of Paper-Based PTWs

Traditional PTW processes, often managed via a paper form or in spreadsheets, are prone to human error, administrative burden, and liability. Cm3’s digital PTW solution equips safety managers with an end-to-end solution that mitigates risk in a unified platform. The workflow built into Cm3’s PTW solution negates the need to rely on paperwork as a control, shifting PTW from administration to a true frontline safeguard.

Digitised within Cm3 OnSite, work cannot commence without formal authorisation and clearly defined safe work procedures are agreed upon by all responsible parties. This provides a structed and auditable control ensuring that all potential hazards are identified upfront, controls are verified, and responsibilities are clearly documented.
